Transparency in business means operating in such a way that it is easy for others to see what actions are performed. Transparency implies openness, communication, and accountability. Accountability is the acknowledgment and assumption of responsibility for actions, products, decisions, and policies including the administration, governance, and implementation within the scope of the role or employment position and encompassing the obligation to report, explain and be answerable for resulting consequences. All acts that maintain or improve transparency are linked to this sub-category.
Data defines the opportunities and risks of a business. Therefore, a similar level of seriousness is required in improving the productivity of data and protecting it as for economic capital.
Reframing company gifts given to employees, customers and partners for example is a low effort and impactful solution for companies to re-route resources for the ones that need them the most.
One of the problems preventing companies from doing more good, is simply the lack of science and sustainability expertise. This can result in decisions, investments and eventually acts that are not as impactful as they could be.
