Avidly – Actions during the corona pandemic
With the rapid development of COVID-19 infections in Finland, we at Avidly switched to remote work early in all of our offices to enable the safety of our employees.

With the rapid development of COVID-19 infections in Finland, we at Avidly switched to remote work early in all of our offices to enable the safety of our employees. The exceptional situation in relation to work and the well-being of our employees was resolved on many different fronts. Our company needed to respond quickly to enable our employees to be resilient, safe, and communal this spring.
Avidly survived the exceptional spring better than expected precisely thanks to the efforts of its employees. We at Avidly do a better tomorrow together and these actions for the well-being of our employees and their families have contributed to making it possible.
Avidly employs 240 creative professionals and our work requires a high level of professionalism and focus, as well as an environment enabling that. As our employees moved to home offices and remote workstations, we at Avidly made sure the necessary equipment was in use in the same way as in a normal office and we even delivered it by taxi. Now, when restrictions are eased, our offices have taken care of both disinfectants and safety gaps, and we monitor the number of our employees in the offices to minimize the risk of infection.
COVID-19 has certainly not been easy for anyone, but for families, in particular, arranging daily lives has been really challenging as schools and kindergartens closed and moved on to homeschooling. We wanted to ensure that our employees had the opportunity to address the challenges posed by this and adapt to the situation. We allowed our employees with kids to spend 40% of their working time on childcare. In addition, in critical situations where childcare is required for a full day, we decided to pay a salary for a period of 14 days based on a special exception to labor law.
There was a lot of news about COVID-19 infections during the last two months. We arranged the opportunity for employees to take the test for corona through occupational health if necessary. We also increased the three-day sick leave with the employee’s own notice to 10 days. We also organized a possibility for our employees to experiment on break exercising by utilizing an internal exercise competition and activating a dedicated service specialized in break exercises called Cuckoo Workout.

At Avidly, we believe that taking others into account in our work community and remembering others even with small things increases overall well-being – which is why we decided to send our employees chocolate to brighten up their remote workday.
