Ruohonjuuri – Donating to charity

Beneficiaries
300

Part of a charity! Ruohonjuuri donates money and products every month to charitable NGOs and projects that improve the world. Ruohonjuuri’s prize and grants are also awarded annually to support sustainable development.

Ruohonjuuri’s owners have NGOs that receive part of the funding for their operations from Ruohonjuuri’s dividends. Ruohonjuuri also encourages customers to do good around: Our Kamppi store has a donation point from Hope (a non-profit organization), where Hope distributes purchased products to low-income families with children.

Purpose

By putting the good around, Ruohonjuuri wants to help NGOs and projects to make the world a better place. In this way, Ruohonjuuri also participates in the actions that aim for a better world.

Results

Last year (2020), Ruohonjuuri donated 36.507,44 euros and year 2019 we donated 43,600.12 euros to different organizations and projects that make the world a better place for all. We did that by granting Ruohonjuuri awards and scholarships with the ”Monthy goodness” campaigns and other happenings.

For example, 2020 we supported an animal shelter, an organization that helps low-income families, climate-related projects, and many others.

All our charity cases you will find from our blog >

Implementation

Each month, the entire proceeds from one campaign product are directed to a charity that our clients have suggested to us. Every day, we donate products to projects and NGOs that improve products around the world. The Ruohonjuuri Prize and grants are also awarded annually to support sustainable development – this year the theme was carbon-neutral activities and biodiversity.

Review

I believe this is a great example of cooperation and solidarity, especially where it is needed the most. However, already a working idea, and the company has to figure out a way to ensure that this model can live on independently whenever funds or donors will be short.

Review

This Planet Act involves customer purchases in generating donations to pre-selected charities. This model is highly scalable for any consumer company and is relatively easy to implement once the right partners have been selected.
