CGI – Get Involved!

Volunteering (h)
1 200

Get Involved! CGI Suomi Oy encourages its employees to volunteer for a good cause for one paid day per year.

Purpose

Corporate Social Responsibility is one of the six values of CGI. For us, it important that our employees have the ability to work close to our communities. The Get Involved program allows CGI to make its own contribution to the continued development of the communities in which we work and live.

Results

CGI employees have already done over 1200 hours of volunteering work around Finland. Last year 84 employees participated. The target is to increase the amount of hours so that eventually all employees would use this chance to do good in their communities.

Implementation

CGI’s Get Involved is a permanent program available for all the employees in Finland. Our employees can choose a form of volunteering that fits their personal work situation and schedule, either on their own or with their team – volunteering is a brilliant way to spend a team day together!

I am very proud of the Get Involved program and our active employees who have participated in different volunteering activities, such as teaching cybersecurity skills to children, providing companionship to lonely people, and volunteering in nature conservation areas. The program is a practical and flexible way for all our employees to contribute to CGI’s commitment to a more inclusive and sustainable world.

Review

Offering a structured program for employees to do volunteer work can increase the employer brand and offer employees a way to utilise their competences for something that matters to them personally. This act is scalable to all types of organizations, but require co-operation from HR and management of the organization.
